Lockyer's Country Gardens: Where Quality Grows!

Fall Garden Mums

The Garden Mum season begins in May. Un-rooted cuttings arrive and are "stuck" in plug trays for the rooting process. Approximately 4 weeks later, roots have developed and the potting begins mid June. Our crop is grown on site and cared for daily. Our Garden Mums are prized for their longevity. We grow several thousand plants for both retail and the wholesale market. Mums are grown as a season extender of colour, as they tolerate frost. They are not a true perennial, however they do have the ability to overwinter from one season to another. Our Mums are offered in solid colors in 4 pot sizes as well as the tri-colour combination that we are well known for. Our plants are never forced which means the blooms last incredibly long. In September our grounds become a breathtaking sea of colour.
